I’ve reblogged this once, but I’ll do it again. I want to be able to raise a little girl in the future, and if I choose to go through the adoption process, there should be NO reason why I should be discriminated against because of my sexual orientation when there are people that I know are out there who cannot take care of themselves, much less their children. This doesn’t speak to me about marriage; this speaks of the discrimination that my community still faces, and the more inhumane things that are out in the world. Open your eyes. See the pain being caused on both sides of the argument.

For a long time - since I’ve been aware and involved in the body modification scene - I’ve wanted to do “pulling”. I really wanted to get suspended. But because I have been fat my whole life, I have lived with the idea that I couldn’t. Today at the shop where I work at, we set up to do a few suspensions. I decided to only try Pulling for a few reasons.
In case you’re wondering, yes… I can get suspended. My co-worker who got suspended today, weights 150 pounds. While he was suspended, he lifted my other co-worker -who weights 160 pounds. That’s a total of 310 pounds hanging from two hooks. I weight 275, and I’m planning to use four hooks. Plus, when I get suspended, all I know is that I want my boyfriend to be there. I still need to loose a few pounds because the skin on my back is too thick.
If you’re asking yourself “Why do people do that?”. I’ll give you my reasons. I have kind of a hight tolerance for pain, and apparently my body produces a lot of endorphins. I have always wanted to know which are my limits. How much pain I can handle. That’s why I do this kind of things. I can assure everyone, getting the hooks through the skin, does not hurt more than popular piercings, or even getting tattooed. The pulling itself, was kind of intense, but not because of pain. There was almost no pain involved. But because I’m not used to my skin being pulled with such strength, it was scary.
In the end, this is just fun for me: satisfying my curiosity, confronting my fears, getting to know my body, my mind and my whole self a lot better. Knowing that I can handle this, now I’m prepared to take it to another level and push myself forward… and I will.

Today we are going to suspend one of my coworkers at work. I’m going to pull him up through hooks piercing the skin below my elbows. Stay tuned for pictures!
